Important Dates to Remember
• 2025 dog license expirations will be extended from December 31, 2025 to March 31, 2026
• June 1, 2026 deadline for current pricing, starting June 2, 2026 delinquent prices will be in effect
• After renewal, dog licenses will be valid one year or three years from the date of purchase
•2026 dog licenses will expire December 31, 2026 and 2027 dog licenses will expire December 31, 2027, you will receive renewal information through Docupet
What are the fee's for a dog license?
- If a dog was just recently adopted AFTER JUNE 1.
- Requires proof of adoption.
- If a dog is 4 months old AFTER JUNE 1 (Generally dogs cannot be vaccinated against rabies until at least 4 months old)
- Dog has to have been vaccinated after JUNE 1.
- Once dog is vaccinated, owners have 30 days to get a dog license otherwise they are then delinquent.
- Requires proof of age from vet.
This license is issued by the authority of the Oakland County Treasurer, license expires 12/31 of current year.
