The Patrol Bureau is comprised of Police Officers responsible for responding to and investigating calls for service, along with patrolling Walled Lake's streets and neighborhoods. This section has the primary responsibility for the department's effort to preserve peace, protect life and property, and the prevention and suppression of crime.The Patrol Bureau is responsible for providing immediate response and preventive patrol for 3 square miles and 7,000 residents. During 2010, officers responded to more than 11,000 calls for service.


Police officers assigned to this section provide service primarily via marked patrol vehicles, bicycles, unmarked cars, and foot patrols, to provide state of the art service and protection to the citizens of and visitors to Walled Lake. The Patrol Bureau strives to provide far more than the traditional response to complaints, committing themselves to the philosophy of Community Policing, preventing crime before it occurs, and teaching citizens and businesses how to reduce their chances of becoming victimized.
